Charles Dixon, better known to the Gospel Music enthusiast as Da Liberal Soul a native of the Washington, D.C. area, has burst on the scene in first class fashion, offering the world awesome music for God. His love for music began when he was a young boy. At the age of seven, he had mastered the art of mimicking the voices of several different artists, heard over the radio airways. It was not uncommon to find Charles either on the street corner, in front of the church or around the house harmonizing with friends mimicking groups such as Commissioned, The Winans, Debarge, Bee Gees etc. Charles believes that the reason so many group entities have fallen was due to harmony being broken in one form or another i.e. discord, envy, greed & spiritual death etc. He also declares that if the church endeavored more towards unity in faith, belief and love rather than health wealth & prosperity, the world would be a much better place.
During his youth, Charles sang in several choirs and was an active member in his local churchs music ministry. As a young man, he was a highly sought after solo artist, widely recognized for his anointed smooth style of vocal prowess and his ability to hit the extremely difficult, note of high C.

Often compared to the crooners of old, it was apparent that Charles possessed a gift of vocal delivery to be desired. Much to his surprise, the call on his life was recognized while in a place not so desirable and at his lowest point spiritually. One day he heeded to the beckon and allowed God to turn the misfortunes he had perceived into messages of deliverance that would ignite the fire of repentance in so many souls around the world. Often times it is assumed that the anointing or hand of God is somehow inherited through family, offspring of the cloth etc. But God tends to use those that the world would typically would write off or deem as an irreconcilable. But God!! God chose to use Charles regardless of his lifes mistakes and has blessed him with a plethora of gifts, such as, phenomenal songwriting, arranging, producing and music video director abilities. All of these great gifts, coupled with the anointing will surely serve a blow to the kingdom of darkness, while setting the perfect platform for the smooth sound of a gospel message, delivered with ease.

Each song written was birthed out of the Holy Spirit and is saturated with power from on high. Listeners will be encouraged by the richness of Gods Word and the wisdom that filters through Charles. When asked why he took such a scriptural approach with his music, he simply replied, "There is enough feel good music being played on the radio today. What we really need is the music that will convict and provoke which would ultimately change lives...

Charles accredits his love for God and his desire to always put God first, to his mother, the late Cora Dixon. She would consistently see to it that he stayed in the house of the Lord and always stressed the importance of staying in the Word of God.

His musical influences range from old school artists such as: Darryl Coley, Rev. James Moore, Frank Williams, Commissioned and the new urban sounds of J-Moss, Dawkins & Dawkins, Tonex, Deitrick Haddon, Marvin Sapp and Isaac Caree.

Although Charles is making his solo debut, he is no stranger to the Gospel community. He has ministered with a few gospel groups such as, Restine Jackson & Grace of Washington, D.C., David P. Stevens & Friends of Philadelphia PA, Predestined out of Atlanta GA, and Set Apart, which was birthed out of Washington DC as well. Charles has also had the opportunity to sing on the Bobby Jones Gospel Show in 2002 and 2011. In 2012 Charles performed in the Bobby Jones New Artist Showcase. He has sung at the GMWA convention a few times. In addition, he has shared the stage with quite a few of Gospels finest, such as , Fred Hammond, Yolanda Adams, Hezekiah Walker, Mary Mary, Michelle Williams, Dawkins & Dawkins, Trinitee 5 7, John P. Kee, Luther Barnes, Rizen , and Ted and Sheri just to name a few.

His favorite scriptures are:
Proverbs 11:25 - The Liberal soul shall be made fat; and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.
1Thessalonians 5:18 - In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

So, People of God listen prayerfully, open your hearts, and prepare your minds to be transformed by the anointed, Spirit-filled music from God, by way of Charles Dixon, which will minister to you and meet you at the very point of your need.
